The Regency chest of two short and three long roomy drawers in the original straw coloured painted finish with painted black line mock stringing to each drawer and to the top, the whole standing on bracket feet with shaped apron canopy, survives from the early Nineteenth century.

The drawers glide smoothly, the whole sturdy and in good original order aside from the handles which are later replacements. The paintwork, commensurate with age has a few areas chipping though this is of course part of the appeal. There is a small section of loss to a lower piece of drawer moulding and some loss to the front apron at the feet. To the back there is a later reinforced strut. We have hand waxed the whole but most importantly have otherwise left her as is.

Always in high demand, and with a limited supply, a Regency period painted chest is always the interior decorators practical piece of choice.
