The scarce silkwork and bullion embroidery, in unrestored original order, hand-worked in silk threads featuring scratch and bullion embroidery with the American Eagle, anchor, and shield motifs, almost certainly from the Spanish-American War Era, to a sea green ground and blue dogtooth border, the whole being glazed and presented in its original folk art stained pine frame and surviving from the zeniths of the nineteenth century.
The picture and frame are both in decorative and slightly tired condition but remain stable, beautifully part decayed and in original un-meddled with condition, which is always very appealing. Some parts are faded and there is some staining with the ground perishing in places, please refer to the photographs for a full visual reference. The frame has a lovely craquelure finish. There is a small crack to the upper left glazing.
A scarce piece of militaria artwork with masses of decorative appeal.
