The charming pair of primitive Irish country chairs with delightful lyre-shaped seven spindle splat backs, and retaining their original deep plum coloured painted finish, to turned front legs and rear sabres united by stretchers, the wholes surviving from the provinces of nineteenth century Ireland.

The condition of both chairs is mainly solid, with only a single narrow replacement board to one seat. We have tightened the joints. They are of slightly differing size but only by half an inch or so.

These chairs would have been in a farmhouse deep in the Irish countryside and would have been either fireside or in the scullery.

Encapsulating the charm of the Irish provinces at the time, and proving very decorative with it.
