The large boudoir doll with plush covered face and painted features, inset lashes, green eyes, bleach blonde floss silk hair and having carved wood and composition plaster lower limb sections with gold painted high heel shoes and delicately carved arms having the original peach and olive green silk dropped waist dress with asymmetrical hemline and pierced floral lacework, surviving from the first quarter of the twentieth century.

The condition of the doll is generally in original order, the costume is slightly tired as one would expect but is completely original with some discolouration to parts and some staining to the dress with some bluntness to the nose and some losses to the fingers to one hand as photographed. The hair has some small amount of loss.

Impressionistic of seductive, long-limbed ladies, boudoir dolls were produced mainly in France and Spain between 1920 and 1930. Unlike most dolls they were made to be placed on beds and in boudoirs. The dolls today are sought after because of their classic artistic styling and, often, their art deco look.
