The black painted pine legs and frieze showing the wonderful original textured surface worn thoroughly and consistently with age, the four plank rustic top having canted corners over a frieze drawer with original knob handle, the whole raised on turned legs, surviving from a farmhouse scullery or kitchen in the high Victorian period.

The rustic and provincially made carcass has a wonderful patina, with a host of character commensurate with its age and heavy use and it remains steady on its feet. The knob handle is original. The very rustic four-plank top has some signs of old worm which has long since gone though the holes remain. The paint is undisturbed and is original to the piece. The drawer runs smoothly.

One hell of a character and a nice versatile size that could be used as a side table, kitchen, desk or serving table.
