The life-size pair of white painted plaster over wirework and hessian figures, loosely and freely modeled, of a male and female, each on rectangular steel bases, the female hunched forward, the male leant backwards, each with nondescript features and surviving from the middle part of the twentieth century.

The condition of the figures is mainly sound though they are fairly fragile. The head to the female figure is partly loose, and the male figures ankles are a little weak. They do stand well enough and there are no obvious losses, with rust and staining to the steel bases.

We assume these figures were probably an art studio project, perhaps from a graduate.

This pair change the mood of the room dramatically.
