The very good quality and rather unusual George III well figured mahogany triangular or envelope drop-leaf corner table, of wonderful colour, having a pull-out candle slide and drop leaf supported by a scissor gate leg, swinging out to expand into a square surface, on scratch moulded square chamfered legs, with the original blacksmith iron fixings, the whole surviving from the third quarter of eighteenth century England.

The table is in good useable order and is as original as you would want to find. There are no deficiencies to note, and the timber is of the highest quality. The small ring handle for the brushing slide is a modern replacement so a period one should be fitted.

During this wonderful era of furniture craftsmanship, corner tables became popular, due to their multi-functional and space-saving characteristics.

A real antique dealers table this, one for the purist.
